So we’re already 13 days into the New Year and I haven’t really come up with any new resolutions. They’re the same as last year. I want to lose 20 kilos (well, 4 will be ok too) and go back to work (part time) and improve my marriage and relationship with my kids…and I want to walk my dog more! What I seriously want to do is make time to
meditate more. 2016 is going to be a mindfulness year no matter what. After what we went through in 2015, « annus horribilis », I will live life fully, every second of it!
I said one of my resolutions was to go back to work and I did make a move in that direction. I joined the support and network group « Femmepreneurs« ! They’re a wonderful group of women with a wide range of skills and experience. I’m looking forward to meeting new people and joining the team. And a few of those women will be at our next café on Thursday January 21st!
Are you feeling tired, heavy, and all yucky? I AM and on top of that I’m slowly getting over bronchitis. Maybe I got bronchitis in the first place because my body was too weak to fight it off. Well, let’s talk about how we can help our bodies get rid of toxins and get our energy back! There are many different ideas on how to go about doing this. Personally, I like to eat very healthy foods, cutting out gluten and dairy, and skipping a meal once in a while. If you haven’t heard of the 5/2 diet, get in touch with our local nutritionist Charlotte Debeugny and she can talk to you about it. She also wrote a book with Delphine de Montalier, Régime 5/2 à la française. And then I try to exercise more and drink lots of herbal teas.
What do you do?
Kate has offered to have us over to lovely her home on Thursday January 21st to host a café. We’re calling it a « detox » café because we all need it a little after the festivities. Okay, a lot for me! Alexandra Peacock will present her aloe Vera products and Viveca Llorens, her teas, and she will talk to us about Gong Fu Cha, a mindful tea ritual. Perhaps we can pick another time to try this tea ritual because it requires 2 hours and no distractions. It sounds like something along the lines of one of my resolutions to me and I would love to try it! Maureen will talk to us about Reiki which has a cleansing effect as well. She’s a partitioner as well as our local favorite artist!
Alexandra is French, married to an English man. Newly repatriated in France, she started her own business a little time ago while abroad. She fell in love with wonderful natural products and decided to make it her full time profession. She is a mother of 2 sweet girls, Emma 6 years & Sophie 6 months.
Here is her message to you:
« Look better and feel great in just nine days with this expertly-devised cleansing plan. Designed to cleanse your body and adjust your mindset, the Clean9 provides the perfect starting point for transforming your diet and fitness habits. Based around Forever’s bestselling Aloe Vera Gel drink, this nutritionally-balanced programme will allow you to see real results in just nine days. »
I’m anxious to meet her and here is her message, in her own words…
« I came to France from Sweden 30 years ago and fell madly in love with everything French. I’m a creative person and have a past in interior design and gold jewellery. Today I’m a webdesigner, specialised in websites and logos. I also started Tea Whisper out of passion for excellent, savoury, naturally perfumed rare teas. I practice Tai Chi Chuan and drink tea all the time.
About Gong Fu Cha:
The Gong Fu Cha method is a traditional Chinese way to drink Oolong (or Wulong) tea. It means skill achieved through work and practice.
In this manner to prepare tea, the gestures are defined, graceful, relaxing and soothing, like a slow dance, almost as a « mantra ».The fluid is flowing – the water for the tea – from one container to another. All senses are alert.
It’s a way to be: here and now, far away from everyday worries, a positive pause for body and mind. After two hours of savouring you will be completely relaxed. The Gong Fu Cha method takes you far away but is in reality here and now.
Maureen lives in Orgeval but she’s originally from Costa Rica. She’s an amazing artist besides being a Reiki practitioner. We already had Maureen at our cafés. It’s always a pleasure to be with her!
Next Thursday January 21!! Sorry for the short timing. 9:30 to 11:00 am in Orgeval. If you would like to join us, please send me an email and I will give you the address. firstname.lastname@example.org
